Currently some users are experiencing issues while attempting to access mail. Most users accessing mail via webmail may experience slowness in navigating the interface, and may get 500 Internal Errors. About 40% of users may also experience connectivity challenges while accessing mailboxes via a POP or IMAP connection and sending mail.

Issue Cause:

Connection between data centers

Symptoms:

Webmail interface has slow navigation
40% of desktop email client users may have connection issues
Some outbound mail may be queued up to 15 minutes

Resolution:

Primary source of issue appears to be fixed
Lingering firewall issues in place due to fix are being addressed
Load of successful connections may cause continued issues

In Short:

We're continuing to work hard to get this resolved
Symptoms may continue

Access should be restored for all users, but lingering connectivity issues may occur for a few.

About one-fifth of outbound mail is delayed up to 40 minutes. This is entirely internal mail, and mail from our system to external domains is not delayed, nor is about 75% of internal email.

Access via the webmail interface, as well via POP/IMAP, and SMTP is restored.

Engineers are continuing to monitor the system and are working feverishly on this issue.

Access to mailboxes via webmail as well as via desktop email clients has been restored. Most mail that was delayed has been delivered, and about 10% of mail is still about ten (10) minutes delayed.
