1. Open Mail.
2. Click the "Mail" menu and select "Preferences..."
3. From the "Mail Preferences" window select "Accounts".
4. From "Accounts" select "Add Account".
5. In the "Account Information" window, select "POP" from the pull-down menu, provide a description for the account (i.e. Work Account), your email address (i.e. jsmith@yourdomain.com), the name you want displayed on your email messages (i.e. John Smith), the incoming mail server (i.e. mail.yourdomain.com), the User Name (i.e. jsmith@yourdomain.com) and Password you used when setting up the email account and the outgoing server (i.e. mail.yourdomain.com) in the appropriate text boxes.
6. Be sure to check/enable "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication."
7. Click "OK."

If you've configured everything correctly, you should be able to "send and receive" with no errors.
